Dr. Randolph Kim was born and raised in Lancaster, PA before attending University of Pittsburgh and graduating with honors, earning a dual degree in Neuroscience and Business. After a research externship and brief employment with the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Department of Neurology, Dr. Kim attended New York University College of Dentistry earning his DDS degree, receiving recognition twice for outstanding patient care and management. Following dental school, Dr. Kim completed a General Dentistry Residency Program (GPR) at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson, NJ. During GPR, Dr Kim received extensive training in specialty services including prosthodontics, endodontics, oral and maxillofacial surgery, craniofacial trauma and emergency medicine, as well as earning a certificate to perform sedation dentistry.
Dr. Kim started his dental career in Sinking Spring, PA providing the local community high quality comprehensive and emergency care, as well as oral and IV sedation dentistry for severely anxious or dental phobic patients. For more medically complex or very dentally complex cases, Dr. Kim worked collaboratively with a general anesthesiologist to provide a safe and comfortable dental experience for medically compromised or intellectually disabled patients. After relocating to Washington DC, Dr Kim has been recognized as a “Top Dentist” as seen in the Washingtonian Magazine and Bethesda Magazine. Before moving on to Potomac, MD, Dr. Kim also provided care as a team dentist for the local men's hockey, basketball, and women's basketball professional teams.
After meeting Dr. Heald and agreeing to take on his practice, patients and staff, Dr. Kim came on board in November 2022. Having extensive training and experience in many of the dental specialties and atypical situations provides Dr. Kim an unique ability to treat and coordinate challenging and multidisciplinary cases for our patients of all demographics. Dr. Kim is also, Invisalign and SureSmile certified. Dr Kim is a member of the ADA, DC Dental Society, and Academy of General Dentistry. He is also a member of Seattle Study Club and Spear Study Club.
In his free time, Dr. Kim enjoys golfing, traveling, and spending time with his wife Cathy, and dogs Bear and Moose.
